Jemma Riches and Michaela Wake successfully lead a team that encourages and supports our growing 'Caterpillars' to practice their independence, make healthy choices and grow in confidence, whilst learning to control their feelings in a peaceful and calm environment.  This 'Caterpillar' room offers a dependable space that is rich in resources, where children are encouraged to lead their own learning through play and exploration.  'Twos are emerging from babyhood, when understanding was centred round their own immediate needs, to a growing perception of other people's feelings.  This is a big learning curve; we support by providing equipment that build co-operation - sand table and standing easle for instance' (A good place to be 2).
